it works with quantum effects and comes from the u. of rochester in ny.. might put a crimp in warmongering... .

during the past week, 17 different articles on various practices of jws and comments to those, have been published on the web page of the norwegian equivalent of the bbc, nrk: http://www.nrk.no/nyheter/norge/1.8397366.

in addition to this a special news programme with a discussion on sexual abuse and jw was broadcast on nrk2, and p1 contained an interview with an ex-jw on its weekly news summary programme.. it seems the expose is continuing..

it's nice to finally be able to say hello to you all, having been a long time reader of the forum.. i put off signing up as i didn't feel i had much to contribute, but if i'm honest, seeing atlantis' post about confidential information pushed me into it.. i hope i can get round to writing my story - i always enjoy reading others and it never ceases to amaze me how many have had similar experiences.. so there goes my first post!.

How did you break the news to your parents?

so one of the things both me and my wife are faced with is breaking the news that we've stopped going to meetings to our parents.

my wifes parents could go either way, they have made several critical remarks of the wt over the years, while my parents are die hard jw's.

i tossed the idea around of sending a letter or doing a phone call or just not saying anything.. we've decided that were just tired of having to hide our true feelings and play pretend.

My die hard Aunt was trying to talk to me about the so called truth a couple years back, and I used the UN/ Blood issues stating something is terribly wrong and that I felt the GB may have gone apostate. She replied so are you telling me the brothers are Satanic? I replied, I didn't say that.....I'm just saying something is wrong. I don't think all JW's are bad but something is wrong with the ones in charge at the top. Of course she said....well if there is, Jehovah will take care of it and I'll wait of him. Of course the big A come up and I said I don't think God will be mad if I have a good point.....so I'll just wait it out too and do what I have to do.

Remember you used the term "Die Hard" for your parents.....and it will be as such for both....

As you know it's not a BnW thing. Way too much is involved in their mental/emotional ties to the WTS. Firstly they would have to admit the Society strung along/tricked them all these years. Also, there's years of indoctrination/brainwashing to cut off "anything and everyone" who is against the WTS. Then the sacrafices they made for a dead end dream they wouldn have to admit to. One may be able to show things that are wrong with the WTS, but there's the psychological/emothial stuff which is deeply rooted......causing denial......

I would continue to string them along, unless, you are "truly" ready for the consequence........I strung along other JW realitives for many years.....it's not worth the alternative to me......and I bet your parents would rather have you lie to them instead of know the truth.......

so are the atheists, which is fine.. but really, those in "crisis of conscience" need all the help they can get, and a dignifying uplifting name would be great!

Calling all posters! What are YOUR questions for Candace Conti, Rick Simons and Kelly Kraetsch?

i am pleased to announce that candace conti, and her key lawyers rick simons and kelly kraetsch are planning a youtube video to answer any questions that people in our community may have regarding the recent conti v watchtower lawsuit.

i have offered to coordinate the gathering of these questions, and i thought it might be fun to do it in a "competition" style jwn thread, with the best answers being chosen by kelly, rick and candace to be addressed in the video.. as you can imagine, there are some provisos to this.... this is an active lawsuit, so for obvious legal reasons kelly, rick and candace will have the absolute and final decision as to which questions are answered and how much information is divulged when they are answered.we need the answers in the next 7 days, so the "cut off" for this competition is exactly 7 days from the time this thread goes live on jwn.we kindly request that all questions are asked in a respectful manner without any malicious or offensive intent.

any inappropriate questions will obviously be discarded and ignored.
